PADI TecRec Clip

What is technical diving?
Technical diving means diving, which goes beyond the limits of sport diving, but is not necessarily a professional dive or a research dive. It also defines one or more of the following:

– Diving in more than 40 meters depth
– Decompression stages are required
– Diving in a closed environment, where access to the surface is more than 40 linear meters.
– Accelerated decompression and / or the use of different gas mixtures during the dive.

Because in technical diving, the surface is inaccessible in an emergency, Tec divers need extensive methods and technologies as well as appropriate training to deal with the additional risks. And even if you master these, Tec diving involves adding more risk, potential hazards and less fault tolerance than sports dives.

Why become a tec diver?
Tec diving involves not only more risk, but also requires significantly more deployment, discipline and equipment. It is not for everyone, you can be an experienced, enthusiastic and first-class diver all your life without taking a Tec dive. Nevertheless, there is a small circle of people who would like to visit underwater places which are reserved for only a few people. Many spectacular, unspoilt wrecks lie in depths well over 40 meters. Deeper reefs harbor organisms which are not found in shallow water. Some people are fond of the challenge and the focus that the Tec diving requires. Others love the use of innovative technologies that are state-of-the-art. All these are reasons that make the Tec Diving worthwhile.

What distinguishes PADI TecRec
The TecRec program starts in the year 2000. Although TecRec is not the first Tec diving program (the cave diving training has existed for decades), it always receives awards for its merits.

– TecRec courses are seamlessly integrated into a pedagogically valuable training course that allows you to learn not only the basics of Tec diving at the beginner level, but also to go beyond the limits of the sport diving, using different, specially prepared gas mixtures.
– Each course level will bring you new types of equipment closer to you and provide you with the planning and necessary procedures to expand your diving limits.
– Tec Diver training is an integrated series of three courses: Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50 Flexibility of the execution program.

Participation requirements
The TecRec participation requirements vary according to the course (see description of the individual courses), but the following requirements apply to all persons who are interested in technical diving.

You need to:
– be at least 18 years of age or older.
– Be a mature, responsible personality who strictly and faithfully follows the prescribed requirements and procedures.
– Be physically fit for Tec Diving (the signature of a doctor is required).
– Be prepared to accept the additional risks associated with Tec Diving.
– Be an experienced diver, with at least 100 logged dives.
– A PADI Enriched Air Diver and a PADI Deep Diver, or an equivalent brevet (for this program equivalence means a designated dive training dive between 18 meters and 40 meters with at least 4 training dives and training on aspects of nitrogen anesthesia, emergency decompression , Performing safety stops and providing air supply, OR at least 20 dives recorded in the logbook more than 30 meters).

Discover Tec Diving !!!!
(For certified divers)

Discover Tec allows divers who are curious about technical diving to test a complete technical equipment – “rig” in a controlled environment. Although this equipment is not intended for “Discover TEC”, we want to convey this feeling to participants. Thus it is put in this program by us, if none is present. Especially because “Discover TEC” can be applied to the TEC 40 course when the performance requirements are met, it is advantageous to use the same equipment as is required by the TEC 45 or TEC 50 at the latest. There are no performance requirements for participants who want to “sniff”.

So you get general information about “technical diving” and try the following equipment during a dive:

Double unit with shut-off bridge (manifold), Stages & Liftbag.

Duration: 1/2 day, 1 dive in the limited open water / pool or limited open water.

Requirements: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent, 18 years, 10 logged dives.

Materials: none.

Price: 189,- EUR

Tec 40 !!!
(For certified divers)

The Tec 40 course gives divers an introduction into dives within the sport diving limits with limited decompression. A complete technical equipment is recommended for this level, 2 separate first stages, long LP hose and a 15 liter bottle. However, we recommend that each participant, especially when TEC 40 is only the beginning of the training, rent the entire TEC set either over us or bring them to the course.

However, if you have only an initial interest in TEC diving here, you may use your own diving equipment for the course as long as it meets certain requirements.

A Tec 40 diver is qualified to use diving computers and computer programs to plan decompression dives. However, these must not have more than 10 minutes decompression time and should not be planned deeper than 40 meters / 130 feet. During the dive and decompression, a breathing gas of up to 50% oxygen (EANx50) can be used.

The Tec 40 course includes the theory development, three practical application modules, one dive in the limited open water / pool or limited open water, 2 open water dives with “simulated decompression” and 1 open water dive with decompression.

Duration: 3 days, theory development, 1 dive in limited open water / pool or limited open water and 3 open water dives.

Conditions:
– PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.
– PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent.
– PADI Deep Diver or equivalent or proof of at least 10 open water dives to 30 meters / 100 feet.
– 18 years.
– 30 logged dives, of which at least 10 open water dives with EANx were lower than 18 meters / 60 feet.
– A valid medical certificate (not older than one year).

Materials: Tec Deep Diver Manual.

Price: 399, – EUR

Important note: The course fee does not include bottle filling and PADI documents.

Tec 45 !!!
(For certified divers)

The Tec 45 course is an intermediate step on your way to the technical diver. Subsequently, qualified decompression dives are to be carried out with technical diving equipment and appropriate procedures. The philosophy of this level, however, is that Tec 45 divers continue their training to the Tec 50 diver.

A Tec 45 diver is qualified to schedule (repeat) dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters / 145 feet, and to use either EANx or oxygen for decompression.

In addition to the requirements of the Tec 40 course, the Tec 45 course includes advanced theory development, 3 lessons for practical use, 1 dive in limited open water / pool or limited open water, 2 free water dives with simmulated decompression and a free water dive with decompression stop.

Duration: 3 days, theory development, 1 dive in limited open water / pool or limited open water and 3 free water dives.

Conditions:

– Tec 40 divers or equivalent.
– PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
– 18 years.
– At least 50 logged dives, at least 12 with Nitrox less than 18 meters / 60 feet, and at least 6 dives (with or without EANx) lower than 30 meters / 100 feet.
– A valid medical certificate (not older than one year).

Materials: Tec Deep Diver Manual.

Price: 399, – EUR

Important note: The course fee does not include bottle filling and PADI documents
